MEET OUR YOUNG LEADERS 2026

Gianella (she/her)

Coming soon...

Jamie (he/they)

My name is Jamie and I'm a second year dance student at Edge Hill University. My favourite styles of dance are contemporary and theatre craft, and some of my favourite memories have been dancing in these styles at Coalesce Youth Dance!

In my spare time I enjoy reading and up-cycling clothes, with aims to improve my sewing skills along the way. In the future I hope to be working in the dance industry abroad, as well as having a tailoring business.

In Young Leaders I'm looking forward to working collaboratively with a variety of people, learning and experiencing new styles of dancing and expression, as well as learning crucial business industry skills such as marketing and social media management.

Jess (she/her)

Hi, I'm Jess, and I'm currently studying BA (Hons) Dance at Edge Hill University. I love the creativity and expression in dance, and it also challenges me to push myself. My favourite styles would be contemporary, lyrical and jazz.

In my spare time, I love going for walks and other creative  hobbies.

My main aspiration is to become a dance teacher as I love inspiring other people. From the NEXUS Young Leaders programme, I am looking forward to meeting new people and developing my dance industry skills.

Shannen (she/her)

Shannen-Louise loves to tell a story. Whether through prose, illustration, theatre or dance, she loves to explore unique ways to portray the human experience.

As a NEXUS Young Leader, they hope to develop a further understanding of physicality that can be placed into practice.

Jayden (she/her)

I began my dance journey from a very young age and have been lucky to experience so many amazing opportunities including; performing in the West End, pantomimes and various showcases.

Over the years, I've grown in confidence, musicality and performance quality, always pushing myself to improve.

I love the feeling of adrenaline before stepping on stage and the connection I feel with the audience once I'm performing. Dance allows me to tell stories and express myself in ways words can't.

I'm excited to keep developing as both a performer and a Young Leader, inspiring others whilst continuing to grow both creatively and technically.

Leah (she/her)

I began training in gymnastics at a young age, and after realising I had a joy for movement I joined Cheshire Dance's sessions which was my first real experience of dance.

During COVID I began taking private classes and auditioned for The Centre for Advance Training at The Lowry, where I have been training for the last five years in primarily contemporary dance and ballet. This really helped me discover my passion for dance and, along with the incredible opportunities through Cheshire Dance, including being a Young Producer, has guided me to pursue my passion for dance. In my time away from dance, I love to hike, cook, play music and travel with my family.

After being home educated until I was 14, I joined Chester International School where I'm now studying the International Bachelorette alongside my dance training. Moving forward I'm incredibly excited to be a NEXUS Young Leader to develop my skills and training further alongside other passionate young people!

Izzy (she/her)

Hi! I'm Izzy, and my dance journey started from the age of four. I've loved it ever since as I've never been able to keep still, and it gives me a feeling I can't explain.

I currently study Social Economics, Business and English Language at college, so whilst I am not sure if I will continue as a dancer, it will always be a massive part of my life.

I would love however to continue my path in the industry, which is why I'm so excited to be a part of the NEXUS Young Leaders programme!
