Rewind, delivered by Theatre in the Quarter and Cheshire Dance, is an exciting theatre and movement company for young people in the Blacon area of the city. Rewind brings together young people to create new pieces of theatre, music and dance. The children, drawn from five primary schools and the high school in Blacon, join to create a storyline and lyrics for the piece, which culminates in a unique performance.

The show in 2025 was entitled ‘The Outside World’ and explored the effect of AI on our world. Students from Blacon High School have taken part in some song writing and an aspirational dance element. The Primary students have created the story, developed the movements and helped write the rest of the songs.  The show was performed in a mini tour back to the 4 Primary Schools and at Storyhouse in March to over 1000 people!!

Rewind will happen again in 2026 bringing in new elements in the schools, providing more opportunities for the primary schools to access free dance sessions in school time and support staff to develop the provision for dance across the school. We also want to provide more opportunities to bring the young people of Blacon together in our performance format.
